Looking at where companies appear on the documented map, activity is not evenly spread: Neuquén city concentrates 127 firms with recorded presence and Añelo 56. Together they explain much of the territorial weight we are tracking.

That is not an employment census or the whole basin. It does show where the information comes together: an urban administrative pole and an operating node of the play. 196 companies appear in two or more localities — extended footprint, not commercial size.

Crossing territory with operators changes the question. Among the 56 companies with presence in Añelo, there are documented links to 14 operators. YPF leads that cross (20 companies), followed by Pan American Energy, Tecpetrol, and Pluspetrol.
